Edu-Viz is a user-friendly package that parents, teachers and professionals can use in the comfort of their home or office. The program combines optometric and educational techniques to improve visual skills and enhance reading abilities.

The package is comprised of 3 components:
• Software – Combines optometric and educational techniques to bridge the visual, educational and reading gap that affects learning.
• Equipment – Addresses eye teaming, focusing and tracking difficulties.
• Educational material – Develops phonetic knowledge of consonants and vowel sounds, as well as developing word recognition of high frequency words.

These three components interrelate in the following way:
• The educational material complements the software because the software’s visual exercises contain the different high frequency words that children need to learn and memorize.
• The high frequency words in the educational material are the same words used in the software exercises and the same words that are used in the stories. This constant repetition of the same words will help to reinforce these words and help the child to memorize them.
• The optometric instruments help to improve the mechanics of the eyes.

The package includes tailor-made daily schedules to make implementation easy and effortless, as well as simple step-by-step instructions for all the exercises.

What's in the Edu-Viz box?

Edu-Viz Trainer and Reading Module CD
The Edu-Viz Trainer is a user-friendly software package that combines basic visual training methods with educational techniques to improve visual skills and enhance reading abilities. The Reading Module provides a wide range of interesting and attention grabbing stories designed to entrench strong left to right sequential movements of the eyes.
 

4 Reading Module cd's available:

• Level 1: Grade 1

• Level 2: Grade 2-3

• Level 3: Grade 4-5

• Level 4: Grade 6-7

Important: One reading module included in the Edu-Viz Visual Trainer Box.  Additional levels available at R520,00 per Level.

Red-Blue Glasses
Use the Red-Blue glasses in conjunction with the Edu-Viz Trainer where indicated. Wear the blue filter on the right eye and the red filter on the left eye. The aim of these glasses is to get both eyes to focus on specific elements on the screen.

Consonant and Vowel Cluster Books
These books consist of all the vowel and consonant sounds in the English language. The sounds have been grouped according to their sound similarities.

Sight Word Book
Sight words are words that frequently occur in texts. Good readers should be able to instantly recognize these words without having to decode them. These words need to be memorized.

Sight Word Cards
The sight words printed on the Sight Word cards correspond to the Sight Word book. The cards enable the child to continue practising and reinforcing words learnt from the book

Blinker
The Blinker is a metal plate with a window that can be opened and closed. The Blinker improves visual memory and helps reinforce the sight word pool. It also helps to increase a child’s span of recognition when looking at words. This helps with reading speed and fluency.

Flipper
The Flipper is designed to develop and enhance the focusing system of the eyes. One set of lenses is used to relax the focusing system, while the second set of lenses will stimulate the focusing system.

Swing Ball
The Swing Ball is designed to help develop smooth eye movements and getting the eyes to work together.

Convergence Sticks
This exercise improves the eyes ability to converge and sustain this in a stable manner.
